Assalamu'alaykum,
Pride goes before a fall. An idiomatic English expression explains partially of a fugitive illustration written in the second paragraph. It simply tells that if one is being overconfident or having excessive pride, he will indeed bound to make mistakes at the first hurdle. That is basically what the most common mistake we have been doing over and over again throughout our life after our victory of getting out of our mothers' womb. Usually, each one of us has a plan or a dream to be achieved. A very well planned journey on how to enliven our aspiration that really prompts us to step forward in this life. Howbeit, every time we feel like doing it, I would say most of the time the zeal and enthusiasm fizzles out quickly-in Malay known as "hangat-hangat tahi ayam"-for whatever reasons. Why? It is because we have failed to take a right step in the first place.
Suppose one well experienced guy preparing himself to go for a rock climbing. He should have indeed be well acquainted and get himself prepared with all the safety harness equipment tied around his chest, neck and other parts of the body that needs to be taken care of. Basically, mountaineering should not be a problem for him. Despite with his immense knowledge about climbing a mountain, even the lurch at the rakish angle one, once he got too enthusiastic, he tends to forget the very first step that he should take and he follows his heart and climbs as he wishes, which resulted him to fall down and causes him to suffer from the minor injuries. Thorny stone would not be that nice to be fell onto and his enjoyment of the delusion has caused him a fiasco.
What is it that we forget?. We have planned well, like a 4 years to-do-list is up there pinned on our soft-boards back in our rooms and financial management that really bugs our life all this while have been allocated fairly for future purposes plus the approval the we got from our parents , what else could be missing?.
The answer held in common that we will hear is Du'a or prayer towards Allah. Yes, Brothers and Sisters indeed prayer is the first quintessential step before everything that we do. Prayers are like our fortress entrenched our intentions from any inimical bad elements that might just interfere.
Nevertheless, we as Muslims also should after the Du'a, to move a few steps back and ponder upon the relationship that we have built with Allah. Since you were born into this world, you were not obliged to perform prayers up until you reach the puberty. Though the fact that you do need to be taught of the basic Ibadah prayers towards Allah that you really need to know, you are not forced to do so because of your incapability of executing it excellently. Apart from that once you have reached your puberty, everything now is up to you, and you will be questioned of everything that you have done in this world. This is the time when you should be working on or engrossed by knowing your Creator and build a bond with Him. All of us have at least an ambition but we were not told that much about the preparation that we should take when the very first time we wanted to implement it.
All Muslims and people from other faith and beliefs as well should know that he or she could not have achieved everything that he or she possesses now without His permission. It is a fact in spite of your rejection. Even the atheists should have re-evaluated themselves of what are the purposes of them being brought into existence other than to be a dust once you die like they claimed -Astaghfirullah-.
Put your trust and hope and everything you have in Allah swt first. Do not just raise up your hands for 2 minutes and that is the only devotion you have for Him. Establish your five daily prayers, giving alms, fast and perform the pilgrimage if you are affordable and start to know your Creator. Do not just let the Qur'an to be placed nicely inside that beautiful adorned cupboard. Take it out and read and understand it. Insha Allah, Allah will make everything easy for you.
Pray for your friends first and foremost as what stated in one Hadith;
Once you failed, it does not mean that you are going to be flunk for the rest of your life, but it is just a postponed victory for Allah knows best.
