5 Questions To Ask On 15th Ramadhan

Assalamu'alaykum,

So, half of Ramadan is gone already. Subhan Allah, how time really flies. Like just how we are so elated to celebrate Ramadan with all traditional clothes ready to wear for Taraweeh and when it comes, before we know it is gone. Yes, that is how it will be from time to time like greased lightning, without you realizing it. To cut short, 15 days are gone, or for some countries are still yet to reach 15, what have you done throughout the weeks?. Have you really benefited from this holiest month of Ramadan which Allah has been showering His merciful blessing upon it thousands years ago up until now or you were busy, engrossing yourselves with futile personal pleasures?.

Sit back, catch the remote control, switch off the television, put your laptop into hibernation mode -oh, how are you going to read this then?, ok get back the laptop- and relax for a while. This will not require you to get up, take a bath, wear perfumes, comb your hair, iron your overpriced shirts, no, just sit down on that comfy couch and have some thoughts.

Ask these questions to yourselves -oh, in case your are so jaded or exhausted having fasting for hours, just command your brain to catch these simple questions and interpret it all for you.

  1. - How many pages of Al-Qur'an have I read? Or at least gone through. Did I ever hold the Qur'an this month?.
  2. - How many times have I woke up for Suhoor before Subh Prayer and stayed after praying, doing some beneficial things rather than getting myself in the bed and wake up at twelve.? Did I manage to even go to the Masjid?.
  3. - How often have I been lowering my gaze when I saw something tempting and it caught my attention? Or all I did was, staring without a single blink?.
  4. - What about my mouth?. Have I caused trouble to others because of my penetrative uneasy words? What have I moistening my mouth with?. Wait, have I said Subhan Allah today?.
  5. - Have I respected my parents deservedly that when they asked me to take up the garbage out and I did wholeheartedly or I just disobeyed?.
Ask yourselves and find the answers within you. Don't worry, we still have 15 days to go before 'Eid, remember, do not wait until it ends, get up and do it now!. Islam; it is not hard, it is way of life.
