Assalamu'alaykum,
All praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds for granting us the opportunity today to visit what is known here as 'Film City', at Zekreet, Dukhan Qatar. A very non-arable desert located approximately 90 kilometers away from Doha, the progressive capital city of Qatar. Zekreet offers you an awesome and unforgettable journey. It is said that the recent box-office movie 'Transformers' was shot here and the humongous sand dune vicinity that greeted us the moment we rode on the sterile land, explained enough why had people would travel thousands kilometers away just to get themselves here at what seems to be an adventurous old 'abandoned' city and some even film it.
We departed in the afternoon after 'Asr prayer straight away to the mountainous city of Dukhan. Along on our 1-hour journey, we were presented with an immense and spacious sand path scenery spread out at the both side of the highways all the way to the place where we were heading to. Imagine how massive the land is. Subhan Allah. Though it might look a bit dull and mundane, somehow it brought me back to the time of the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu'alayhiwasallam when he was extending the message across the regions. Of course I did not get the actual picture exactly as it was, except with His permission. Nonetheless, this feeling of poignant seized my heart, digging for its room and agonizing my ignorance all this while. Just think how had Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu'alayhiwasallam endured the pain when he was obtruded to condone the debaucheries and as the result of his resistance while he message was rejected, he was beaten severely, chased out from the city of Ta'if, taunted as madman, sorcerer and a liar. Rocks being pelted onto his head and he remained calm. So, these were some of the events popped in my head when I was looking fixedly at the deserts.
The path was really hilly and you can flip your legs over your head if you happen to fall from the top highland. God forbid. The city or should I say village (?) is surrounded by a very calming and relaxing sea. Roads are full with small and big rocks, making the trip to be even much more challenging. It felt as if you were riding a roller-coaster at the highest speed and when it turned 90 degree, you would have your adrenaline pumped up so fast. We climbed up to the peak and toured the valleys. We did not tour that much but it was really exhilarating when we got the chance to witness the sunset. Allah is Great. We really enjoyed running around the mountain overlooking the charming sea and a really hilarious event took place. It was so funny that I laughed gleefully for almost 5 minutes unstoppably. I cannot share with you what had happened as it is not appropriate thing to do, but wallahi, I never watched such funny incident before that I'd guffawed like a naive young man hee-hawing out loud. I am a human being, I made mistakes and perfectly imperfect. I pray for Allah's graceful mercy and help me to help myself rectifying my weaknesses.
Special thanks to Brother Salman Ali, Brother Abdullah and Sister Rahmah Said Ali. Allah yubarrik fikum.
SUBHAN ALLAH.
